what is a speed click test?

speed click tests are an online exercise used to measure a person's reaction time, or the amount of time it takes for a person to process and react to stimulus. Speed click tests are typically used in the world of gaming, recruiters, and web developers in order to assess a person's ability to remain attentive and react quickly to tasks.

The test works by presenting an array of small circles on the computer screen that turn from gray to red upon pressing. Depending on the type of click speed test, the circles can become grey in varying amounts of time. The person taking the test must then click as fast as they can within this window before the circles change back from red to grey. The results they receive will not only tell them their average reaction time, but also how many times they were able to accurately press the buttons before it ran out of time.

One common speed click test used by many web developers is called "Ficonic's Moving Target Click Trail Test". This particular test challenges people with a set of moving targets that appear on the screen and require them to quickly locate and click each target in sequence. It measures reaction time as well as accuracy so that one can gauge how quickly they can shift focus between different targets while making sure they hit all of them correctly. The results received after completing this test show one's average clicks per second, total clicks attempted, accuracy percentage, and other data that can determine an individual's performance level.
